In Florida, a terrifying video shows a 10-foot-long alligator lunging at an 85-year-old woman and dragging her to her death as she tries to protect her dog, gistpeople reports
Inside Edition obtained video of Gloria Serge standing with her leashed dog along a lake outside Spanish Lakes Fairways, a retirement community in Fort Pierce, on Monday.
The alligator appears nearby and approaches the woman, who moves away from the 700-pound beast.

But the vicious reptile is too fast for her, and she only makes it a few feet before it scrambles out of the water and attacks the dog.
Serge was dragged underwater and killed in the shocking attack as she desperately tried to protect her pet from its massive jaws.
Carol Thomas, a neighbor, told Inside Edition that she attempted to assist Serge while speaking with 911.
“There’s a lady in the lake!” “The alligator has her!” The dispatcher is informed by Thomas. “I believe she’s left. Oh my goodness!”
Thomas stated that she attempted to pull Serge to safety using a pole.
“There was no way I could have reached her sooner,” she told the outlet.
“It’s heartbreaking for her family. It’s just dreadful, dreadful. And her friends, I spoke with a couple of her friends who are devastated yesterday.”
“It was definitely a fight,” said alligator trapper Robert Lilly, who was called in to capture the predator.
“We caught him on the bottom. He never reappeared. “He stayed down the entire time,” Lilly explained.
“We were able to get a second hook and a hard line into him and get him up.”
