The United States has been chosen to host the first enlarged FIFA Club World Cup in 2025.

FIFA has declared that the Club World Cup will be held in the United States in 2025. That will be the first year of the expanded 32-team model, which represents a significant shift from the existing seven-team organisation.

“The FIFA Club World Cup 2025 will be the pinnacle of elite professional men’s club football,” FIFA president Gianni Infantino said on Friday. “With the necessary infrastructure in place, as well as massive local interest, the United States is the ideal host to kick off this new, global tournament.”

Real Madrid, Manchester City, and Chelsea have already secured spots in the expanded tournament lineup, which will test venues and procedures one year before the 2026 World Cup.

The United States, together with Canada and Mexico, will host the men’s World Cup, and FIFA may award some Club World Cup games to those countries.

The Club World Cup will be held in June and July of 2025. The United States was selected as the host country on Friday at an online meeting of the FIFA Council.
