US Police Detain Nigerian-American Woman in Connection With 75-Year-Old Man’s Murder

According to a police statement posted on Facebook, Middle River resident Iheanacho was detained without incident on January 24, 2023, in the 4900 block of Hazelwood Avenue, as a result of an arrest warrant acquired by homicide detectives on January 19, 2023.

 

A 35-year-old female Nigerian-American named Obiageriaku Jane Iheanacho has been detained by members of the Baltimore Police Department’s Homicide, Northeast District Homicide, for the alleged murder of 75-year-old Ellsworth Johnson-Bey.

After being sent to the Central Booking Intake Facility, she was charged with second-degree assault.

 

The police reported that on May 18, 2022, at around 3:45 p.m., Northeast District patrol officers went to the 5000 block of Frankford Road to look into a suspected violent assault.

 

“Once at the scene, authorities spoke with a care center manager, who reported that a 75-year-old male patient had been hurt after being knocked over by a contract worker.

“Officers were notified by a hospital employee on September 5, 2022, at around 05:37 a.m., that 75-year-old Ellsworth Johnson-Bey had passed away as a result of his wounds.

 

“The body was subsequently sent for an autopsy to the medical examiners’ office.
Also, homicide was alerted.

 

The death was determined to be a homicide by blunt force trauma by the Medical Examiners’ Office on January 12, 2023, at around 6:00 a.m.

 

After the victim passed away, Iheanacho was listed as wanted by Baltimore Police Department Homicide.
