Gervonta Davis, an American boxer, has been sentenced to two months in prison for breaking the terms of a suspended sentence.

According to the Baltimore Banner, sheriff’s officers arrested the lightweight boxing star after a court hearing on Thursday in which Judge Althea Handy ordered Davis to serve the remainder of his three-month house arrest sentence in jail.

According to the Baltimore Banner, Davis was arrested after purportedly serving his house detention at the Four Seasons Hotel and a $3.4 million apartment he acquired in South Baltimore. Davis was expected to serve his house detention at the home of trainer Calvin Ford in Baltimore.

According to the Baltimore Banner, when Judge Handy issued her first order, she rejected the concept of Davis serving his house arrest at his home in Florida.

“I didn’t want him in Florida because it wasn’t a holiday,” Handy explained, later adding that she didn’t want Davis sitting by the pool or hanging out at the spa. “He was doing time.” And I was kind enough to let him do it when he was on home detention.”

Davis allegedly placed his trainer’s address on court documents. He did not request Handy’s approval for any other Baltimore location.

Davis was sentenced to 90 days in house arrest on May 5, along with 200 hours of community service, three years of probation, and mandatory Mothers Against Drunk Driving sessions. He had pled guilty to four misdemeanor charges resulting from a hit-and-run incident in Baltimore in 2020 that injured four persons.

Jyair Smith was one of those people. She was pregnant at the time and says she suffered a significant knee injury that will harm her for the rest of her life.

According to the Baltimore Sun, she spoke at his sentencing hearing.

“I’ve been suffering from knee damage since November 5, 2020.” “They said I’d never be the same,” Smith said.

“It’s difficult to see this go on for so long, and I never received an apology.” I have the impression that I am insignificant. Imagine being 18 years old and hearing from your doctor that you’ll never be the same.”
