Ms Vivian Omo was killed in an altercation with four Zefa Microfinance Bank officials in Ifo, Ogun State.
The event occurred on May 10 when bank personnel from the Abule Ijoko Lemode region of Ifo Local Government went to the victim’s house in pursuit of her husband, who was supposed to be their debtor.
The bank employees had gone there to request the money borrowed by the man, but the deceased informed them that her husband was not at home.
The Ogun State police spokesman, Abimbola Oyeyemi, confirmed the event in a statement on Sunday, saying the bank personnel were not pleased with the claim that the guy was not at home, so they tried to flee with some devices, but the late wife objected.

“While the deceased was arguing with bank employees, one of them pushed her, and she fell down and became unconscious.”
“She was then rushed to the hospital for medical attention, but she was confirmed dead by the doctor on duty,” Oyeyemi said.
He went on to say that the incident was reported to the Agbado divisional headquarters by the deceased’s daughter, and that the DPO, CSP Awoniyi Adekunle, quickly led his detectives to the scene, where the bankers were arrested: Badmus Olalekan, Ajibade Oludare, Eniola Aduragbemi, and Femi Oloko.
He further stated that the body was taken to the Ifo General Hospital mortuary for autopsy.
Meanwhile, Ogun Commissioner of Police, Olanrewaju Oladimeji, directed that the suspects be transferred to the State CIID’s homicide section, warning “loan agencies to stop taking laws into their hands in the process of recovering loans from their debtors, as anyone caught in such act will be arrested and prosecuted.”
