Beyonce’s team has rejected rumours the singer declined to perform or attend Saturday night’s BRIT Awards after being denied a £500,000 fee.
Rumours have been circulating that the 41-year-old had not only sought the high cost but also asked for numerous rooms at a major London hotel and additional flights for her team.
A Beyonce fan account named yoncecapital rushed to Twitter to publish a now-deleted tweet showcasing an article which discussed the claims.
In reaction, supporters conveyed their dissatisfaction.
She may have gone there,” one fan tweeted in reaction to the claim, while another wrote: “Imagine if she attended the real event.”
However, her spokesperson Yvette Noel-Schure promptly shut off the talk.
“This is a falsehood. Please do not encourage misinformation,” she wrote.
Beyonce, who won big on the night and took home Best International Artist and International Song of the Year for Break My Soul, astonished London’s O2 Arena with a video message.
During her acceptance speech for International Song of the Year, Beyonce said: “Thank you, thank you so much for appreciating Break, My Soul.
The primary aim of this song was to dance, so thank you for joining this dance of freedom and originality.
“I hope you’re all enjoying a lovely night. Thank you and see you soon.”
Speaking on her Best International Artist achievement, she said: “Thank you very much for this great acknowledgement.
I’d want to say thank you to all of my friends out there in Britain for your consistent support throughout the years.”
She added: “The Renaissance starts. I’ll see y’all on tour. Thank you very much for this distinction!”
The singer just made history at the 2023 Grammys, becoming the Recording Academy’s most-awarded artist of all time.
