Tom Holland, an English actor, has claimed that he has been clean for one year and four months.
The 26-year-old actor discussed his new Apple TV+ drama The Crowded Room and how working on the miniseries changed his outlook on mental health.
After working on the psychological thriller, the Spider-Man star said he became better at “recognising triggers” and “things that stress me out.” He also stated that he spoke with psychiatrists in order to better comprehend his position.
During the conversation, he discussed how it was’so informative on my own life’.
‘Learning about mental health and its power, as well as chatting with psychiatrists about Danny (his character) and Billy’s difficulties, has been extremely informative to my own life,’ Holland told the outlet.

He also expressed hope that viewers will “have more respect and sympathy for people who are going through mental health issues” as a result of the show.
He went on to say, ‘I hope that people would feel enlightened about the capabilities of mental health, the hardships, [and] our great capacity to live.’
‘I’m no stranger to the physical parts of the profession,’ he remarked, referring to his work in action films. ‘But the mental component really banged me up, and it took me a long time to recuperate and sort of get back to reality.’
After nine months of filming, he indicated that he needed to remove himself from his persona.
‘I saw myself in him, but in my personal life, I remember having a bit of a tantrum at home and saying to myself, “I’m going to shave my head.” “I need to shave my head to get rid of this character,” he recalled.
‘And, obviously, we were in the middle of a shoot, so I opted not to… ‘It was unlike anything I’d ever known,’ he continued.
