According to the newsmen, Vice President Yemi Osinbajo dedicated the hospital in February.

According to reports, the thieves broke into the hospital and stole electronics worth millions of naira.

Amotekun Corps agents in Ogun State said they apprehended three suspects in connection with the crime.

David Akinremi, the Amotekun Commandant in Ogun, confirmed that the suspects burgled the hospital and stole six 43-inch Hisense television sets, two 65-inch Bruhm television sets, three Bruhm fridges, one Midea refrigerator, and three Lontor rechargeable standing fans, all worth N3 million.

Akinremi stated that the main suspect, one Ogunjembola Kehinde, led his gang to rob the hospital and was apprehended after a complaint of burglary and stealing was filed by one Kehinde Banjoko.

Banjoko was said to have reported to the Amotekun Corps that unknown persons broke into her apartment while she was away in Lagos and stole her generator, gas cylinder, standing fan, mattresses, rug, and other items worth approximately N500,000.

“Based on actionable intelligence, the prime suspect was arrested and upon interrogation, he admitted that he committed the alleged crime with one other now at large. His admission resulted in the recovery of all the items from the criminal receiver, Lawal Aliu.

“While investigation into the original complaint was still ongoing, intelligence received further revealed that the same principal suspect in this case, Ogunjembola Kehinde and his criminal gang was responsible for breaking and stealing of some electronic equipment at the newly inaugurated 100-bed Mother and Child Hospital, Iperu.

“When confronted with this, he also admitted he committed the offence with his co-accused in the original burglary and stealing case reported by Banjoko Kehinde,” Akinremi said.

He also stated that three suspects have been apprehended, and that efforts are being made to apprehend other criminal receivers mentioned by the suspects.
