Asma’u Lawali Bungudu, a nurse at Ahmed Sani Yariman Bakura Specialist Hospital in Zamfara State, was declared dead after collapsing while performing her duties.

The nurse was in good health when she arrived at the hospital for work in the early hours of Wednesday, but she was pronounced dead a few hours later.
Auwal Usman, a hospital spokesman, confirmed the incident, stating that Asma’u was at her duty post, NHIS Clinic, and had checked the blood pressure of approximately 30 patients before complaining about a cardiac issue to a doctor.

According to the hospital spokesman, she immediately slumped after complaining, and doctors rushed to save her.
“The doctors did everything they could to save her life, but she died instantly,” he added.
According to Usman, the hospital’s management team, led by Medical Director Dr Usman Muhammad Shanawa, has handed over the body to the deceased’s relatives.
A family member of the late nurse confirmed when contacted that Asmau left home hale and hearty on Wednesday morning and went to the hospital where she works as a nurse with no health complaints.

“She was buried today at 5 p.m. at Malan Abdurrahaman House, Magama Area, Bungudu, in accordance with Islamic injunction,” a relative said.
