Pop singer Rihanna would perform at the Oscars next month, organisers confirmed on Thursday, only weeks after her long-awaited and very pregnant return at the Super Bowl.

The Barbados-born singer will perform her Academy Award-nominated song “Lift Me” from “Black Panther: Wakanda Forever” at the film industry’s highest awards presentation in Hollywood.

The song is vying with the likes of Lady Gaga’s “Hold My Hand” from “Top Gun: Maverick,” and the current frontrunner “Naatu Naatu” from Indian crowd-pleaser “RRR.”

Rihanna, 35, had not played a live concert in seven years until delivering a career-spanning medley of classics to the NFL marquee halftime show earlier this month.

She has instead concentrated on the popular beauty, lingerie and high-fashion enterprises that have helped make her a billionaire as well as parenting her first kid, a son, who was born in May

Her new baby belly dominated the talk at the Super Bowl, with officials for the singer announcing immediately after the performance that Rihanna is pregnant with her second child.

But those expecting a preview of the record she’s been promising for years were left unsatisfied

Lift Me” is the first Oscar nomination for Rihanna, a nine-time Grammy winner with eight multi-platinum albums.

The 95th Academy Awards, presented by Jimmy Kimmel, will be placed at Los Angeles’ Dolby Theatre on March 12.
