The future of Lionel Messi at Paris Saint-Germain is currently unknown.
Messi’s current contract with PSG expires in less than three months.
The 35-year-old joined PSG as a free agent in the summer of 2021 after his contract with Barcelona was not renewed due to La Liga regulations.
Argentina’s captain has yet to sign a new contract with Paris Saint-Germain and has been linked with a return to Barcelona, as well as moves to the Saudi Pro League (SPL) and Major League Soccer (MLS).
Messi’s first season at PSG was underwhelming, but his second stint at the club was far superior.
For PSG, the seven-time Ballon d’Or winner has 18 goals and 17 assists in all competitions.
Despite his exploits for Christophe Galtier’s side, Messi’s performances for the French Ligue 1 champions have not been well received by the majority of PSG fans.

PSG fans booed Messi earlier this month during the team’s Ligue 1 loss to Lyon.
They had previously booed Messi for his team performances this season.
Some PSG fans and former players believe Messi should leave the club this summer because he isn’t giving his all for the team.
The Barcelona board, on the other hand, is eager to bring Messi back to Camp Nou, and the forward has been heavily linked with moves to Saudi Arabia and the MLS.
According to the newsmen, Messi will have to make a major decision at the end of the season when his PSG contract expires in June.
The former Barcelona captain is undoubtedly conflicted about where he should play next season.
At the moment, Messi is not completely loved by PSG fans; his boyhood club Barcelona wants him back, as do Saudi Arabia and the MLS.
In an interview with newsmen on the subject, Stanley Smart, an Abuja-based sports journalist, insisted that Messi should follow his heart when it comes to his future.
Messi, according to Smart, deserved happiness and love at this point in his career.
“Well, Messi has accomplished everything in football. “He is currently a world champion after leading his country’s national team to a World Cup victory in Qatar last year,” Smart said.
“I believe Messi should follow his heart in terms of his future, where he wants to continue playing football next season.”
“He deserved to be happy and loved.” Some PSG fans booed Messi during their Ligue 1 match against Lyon, which irritated me. I’m sure it wasn’t the first time the fans did something similar this season.
“For the love of football, we’re talking about one of the best in the game’s history.” I believe he is deserving of love, and if he is not receiving it at PSG, I believe he should seek it elsewhere.
“I would prefer to see Messi finish his illustrious career in Europe rather than Saudi Arabia or the United States.” It would not be a bad idea for him to return to his boyhood club Barcelona. Because he is a club legend,” he added.
