According to authorities, more than 42,000 people died in Turkey and neighboring Syria as a result of the powerful 7.8 magnitude earthquake on February 6.

On Thursday, February 16, UN Secretary-General Ant nio Guterres announced a three-month appeal for $1 billion in aid for earthquake relief efforts in Turkey. It came just two days after the United Nations issued a flash appeal for $397 million in earthquake relief for Syria.
TRT Haber, the state news channel, reported on Thursday that their crew visited teenager Aleyna lmez in the hospital room after the rescue operation and spoke with her, her doctors, and family members.
Her eyes were open, her body was covered up to her neck, and tubes for oxygen supplements were inserted.
Her aunt and grandmother sat by her bedside, kissing her cheeks and kissing her hands.
When the journalist approached Aleyna with a microphone and asked how she was, she shook her head and smiled.
Prof. Dilber, Aleyna’s doctor, expressed surprise.
She didn’t eat or drink anything the entire time she was under the rubble, but she was still in good health.
Dr. Dilber also stated;
We could say that her inactivity has protected Aleyna a little because she needed energy and has endured during this time, but I guess we can.
Aleyna was conscious and talking to the doctors the moment she was brought into the hospital. We have taken the necessary steps. Body imaging and blood tests were performed. She was in excellent health, TRT Haber spoke with Dr. Dilber.
There was no evidence of hypothermia. Blood tests revealed that the kidneys were working very well. Muscle enzymes didn’t exist. It is excessively high. Fluid therapy began right away. Aleyna still spoke to us clearly after the fluid therapy, He went on to say.
