In a video, the man explained that his pastor had used the Bible verse Matthew chapter 6 VS 19 – 21 to convince him to invest in the church for years.

The verse is as follows: “Do not store up treasures on earth, where moth and rust corrupt and thieves break through and steal:

“But store up treasures for yourselves in heaven, where neither moth nor rust can corrupt, and where thieves cannot break through or steal.

“For where your treasure is, there will also be your heart.”

He went on to say that those teachings brainwashed him and led him to invest so much in the church.

However, he claims that times have changed; the Nigerian government, as well as the banks, have failed him, and he now wishes to cash out on his investment in the church.

He then showed me the “Kingdom Investment” booklet, which shows proof of the tithe he’s been paying for years.

He also displayed a sticker in his home indicating that he has been a member of the church since 2013.

He added that he can forego the offering and other church donations, but he wants the tithe for which he has proof.

“I’m no longer interested in the kingdom of heaven,” the man said, pleading for his investment to be returned so he could survive on Earth.
