Pharrell Williams has been named the new creative director of menswear for Louis Vuitton, succeeding Virgil Abloh, who held the position for three years before his death, gistpeople reports

Williams’ first collection will be shown at Men’s Fashion Week in Paris in June, according to the luxury brand.
The position has been vacant since Abloh’s untimely death in November 2021 at the age of 41. Abloh, who took over as CEO in 2018, did not reveal publicly that he had been privately battling cancer for much of his time at Louis Vuitton.
Pietro Beccari, chairman and CEO of Louis Vuitton, said in a statement that he was?delighted to welcome Pharrell back home.
Williams previously collaborated with Louis Vuitton in 2008 on sunglasses and jewelry lines.
Beccari went on, His creative vision outside of fashion will undoubtedly guide Louis Vuitton into a new and exciting chapter.
