Whitney died on February 9 during a sporting event at Agege Stadium, according to MSport.

Whitney’s mother, Blessing Adeniran, accused Chrisland School of withholding information about her daughter’s death after her death.

As a result, the state Ministry of Education ordered the school’s temporary closure pending an investigation.

The state later revealed that the 12-year-old girl died from asphyxia and electrocution, according to an autopsy performed on February 15.

While the school recently issued a public apology, an inquest into the case will begin on April 4.

The Lagos State Ministry of Justice filed a case against the school for manslaughter and negligence.

According to the ministry’s DPP, the school and four employees would be charged in court.
