After an 11-year-old Mississippi, USA kid was shot by police after calling 911 for aid, there is mounting pressure for the officer to be fired and punished.

According to Carlos Moore, an attorney for the boy’s family, Aderrien Murry was critically injured early Saturday, May 20 by an Indianola police officer responding to a domestic incident at the house of the 11-year-old’s mother.

“This should not have happened,” Moore lamented. “[Aderrien’s] main question has been, ‘Why did this happen to me?'” The infant had a collapsed lung, a lacerated liver, and broken ribs. He is fortunate to have lived, but he is still in emotional and mental suffering.”

During a rally at Indianola City Hall on Thursday, May 25, a group of protesters demanded responsibility for the shooting of the defenceless kid.

The Mississippi Bureau of Investigation is looking into a shooting that occurred at 6 a.m. Saturday at a home on BB King Road.

“No officers were hurt in the incident.” “A minor occupant of the residence sustained significant injuries and was transported to a local hospital,” according to the agency.

“MBI is currently conducting an investigation into this critical incident and gathering evidence.” Agents will share their findings with the Attorney General’s Office after the inquiry is completed.”

Greg Capers, the officer, has been placed on paid administrative leave following a majority vote by the Indianola council.

The boy’s family’s lawyer stated that he was seeking to obtain body-camera video of the shooting.

Moore stated that the youngster was shot after requesting assistance for his mother. During a fight with the father of one of her children, Nakala Murry gave the youngster her phone and urged him to call police and his grandma, according to the family’s attorney.

Moore claimed that when police came, they were told that the man was unarmed and had fled through a back door, and that three children were there.

Moore stated that police ordered everyone in the house to show themselves with their hands up. According to the attorney, when the 11-year-old emerged from a bedroom with his hands up, he was met with bullets.

“He shot him immediately when his hands were up, and he’s coming around the corner,” Moore explained.

The cop, according to Moore, should be fired and charged with aggravated assault.

“I did not request a paid suspension.” I requested and demanded dismissal. “Did I stutter?” he said during a press appearance at City Hall on Thursday. “When I say termination, I mean it.” You don’t provide a paid vacation to someone who commits such a rash act.”

He anticipates the family filing a federal civil rights complaint.

“We need to hold our law enforcement officers to a higher standard and ensure that they are trained to de-escalate situations and use non-lethal methods whenever possible,” Moore said in a statement released Thursday.
