
A middle-aged woman (name withheld) was killed by a hit-and-run driver on the Lagos-Abeokuta Expressway on Sunday, gistpeople reports

Ifo Divisional Commander, Traffic Compliance and Enforcement Corps, TRACE, in Ogun, Mr Adetunji Oyebola, confirmed the incident to the News Agency of Nigeria in Ota, Ogun State.
According to Oyebola, the incident occurred in the early hours of Sunday.
“The driver of the unidentified vehicle struck a woman (pedestrian) immediately after the Ifo Police Station on the inbound Lagos-Abeokuta Expressway.

“The victim’s corpse was taken to the mortuary at Ifo General Hospital, Ogun, by TRACE personnel in collaboration with Ifo Local Government health officials,” he said.
Oyebola urged motorists to avoid excessive speeding and reckless driving in order to avoid accidents on the road.
He also advised pedestrians to be patient when crossing streets to avoid being hit by cars.
