The Edo State Police Command arrested a 65-year-old herbalist and 21 other suspects in the state for armed robbery, cultism, and unlawful assembly, gistpeople reports
The command’s spokesman, Chidi Nwabuzor, said in a statement on Tuesday, February 21, in Benin, that the herbalist and one other suspect were apprehended on January 31 by the command’s surveillance team.
According to the PPRO, they were apprehended following an investigation into cases of unlawful firearm possession and armed robbery. They were found with one pump-action gun.

The police surveillance team also arrested two other people suspected of conspiracy, unlawful possession of a firearm, and armed robbery, according to Nwabuzor.
He claimed that the gang used a Mercedes GLK and a black Lexus SUV to dupe their victims during their armed robberies.

According to a command spokesman, they recovered a pump-action gun, four cut-to-size locally made guns, and nine live cartridges.
He stated that the suspects admitted to robbing numerous people between Benin and Auchi in Edo.
Similarly, a police spokesperson stated that 13 people suspected of taking part in the Feb. 15 banknote protest were arrested, while five others were arrested for cultism and unlawful possession of a firearm.
He stated that the suspects would face prosecution following an investigation.
