Drake Yet to Be Served With New Subpoena in XXXTentacion Murder Trial because he is said to be Avoiding Questioning in XXXTentacion Murder Trial, Attorneys Say in Court Document

According to court filings, the rapper’s security crew blocked away process servers seeking to serve Drake at his California residence

Defence counsel for one of the men charged in the 2018 murder of XXXTentacion believes Canadian musician Drake is ducking interrogation.

In court filings filed, lawyers say the security guard of Drake — whose actual name is Aubrey Drake Graham — refused to be served with the subpoena at the rapper’s California residence.

The complaint alleged two process servers attempted repeatedly to leave the paperwork at Drake’s residence and had the gate slammed in their faces.

Drake did not show up for a deposition last month, and another one is set via Zoom on Feb. 24. Defense counsel said they want the rapper to be placed in contempt if he doesn’t show.

Three men are on trial for the 2018 robbery and murder of XXXTentacion, whose true name is Jahseh Onfroy. After the murder, a rumour spread that Drake was implicated, but a significant witness for the prosecution testified that Drake had nothing to do with it.

An attorney for Dedrick Williams, one of the defendants implicated in the homicide, had sought to persuade Drake to attend a deposition pre-trial, something the “Nice for What” rapper avoided.

Defence counsel Mauricio Padilla highlighted an Instagram post from XXXTentacion in which he said, “If somebody attempts to murder me it was @champagnepapi [Drake]. I’m snitching RN.” However, the message was shortly removed and XXXTentacion later refuted it, alleging his account had been hijacked.
