According to officials, a police dog assisted border patrol agents in sniffing out $2 million worth of imported fentanyl during a traffic check in Arizona, USA, last week.
Yuma Sector Chief Patrol Agent Patricia McGurk-Daniel tweeted about the seizure at a checkpoint along I-8 in Yuma.
“The narcotics totaled more than 192 pounds, enough to kill 48 million people,” reported McGurk-Daniel.
According to available US Customs and Border Protection records, the amount of fentanyl confiscated during the traffic stop was greater than the whole amount of fentanyl seized in the Yuma Sector during Fiscal Year 2022.
McGurk-Daniel posted images of what appear to be sachets of the lethal poison stashed inside automobile seats.
Another photo shows the dog standing in front of the car after the seats had been opened and searched.
According to accounts, fentanyl was also discovered stashed inside the car’s petrol tank.
