Details emerge as Billionaire, Wolfgang Porsche , 79, divorces his wife, 74, ‘due to severe dementia’

Wolfgang Porsche, a Porsche executive, is reportedly divorcing his partner of 16 years, Claudia, due to severe dementia that has rendered her housebound.

According to sources close to the couple, Porsche, 79, has struggled to live with his wife, 74, due to changes in her behavior since being diagnosed.

Claudia, a grandmother, is cared for around the clock by four caregivers after suffering from the illness for the past two years.

She has reportedly been unable to move independently for months, and her mental awareness has rapidly deteriorated.

Wolfgang and Claudia married in 2019 after dating since 2007. The Porsche family’s assets are valued at EUR 20 billion (£18 billion).

According to German media, Wolfgang has grown closer to his 25-year friend, 59-year-old Gabriela Prinzessin zu Leiningen, in recent months.

 

 

 

She studied law in Munich and Cologne, like Porsche’s wife Claudia. In 1991, she married Prince Karl-Emich von Leiningen, but the couple divorced in 1998.

Later that year, she married the 86-year-old Swiss Karim Aga Khan IV, the 49th Imam of the Nizari Ismailis and a direct descendant of the Prophet Mohammed. In 2014, the couple divorced.

Wolfgang Heinz Porsche is a German-Austrian shareholder and the Chairman of Porsche Automobil Holding SE and Porsche AG’s Supervisory Board.

The executive was born in Stuttgart, the youngest son of former Porsche AG designer and CEO Ferdinand ‘Ferry’ Porsche and Dorothea Reitz.

Ferdinand Porsche, the Austro-Bohemian founder of Porsche AG, was his grandfather. Ferdinand ‘Butzi’ Porsche, his eldest brother, designed the first Porsche 911.
