The National Assembly Service Commission has validated the appointment of Magaji Tambuwal as the clerk of the National Assembly.
His nomination was announced in a statement dated Wednesday 29th March 2023 and signed by the Director of Public Affairs of the commission, Ms Janet Mambula.

Tambuwal’s nomination was claimed to have been authorized during the 573rd Meeting of the Commission held on Wednesday 29th March 2023.
It said that the confirmation has iman mediate impact.
The panel also approved Ogunlana Kamoru Esq. as the deputy clerk to the National Assembly.
The announcement said in part, “The National Assembly Service Commission has validated the appointment of Magaji Tambuwal as the Clerk to the National Assembly.
“His confirmation was confirmed during the 573rd meeting of the commission held on Wednesday 29th March 2023.”
It was claimed that the commission has designated both Tambuwal and Kamoru as Acting CNAs and Acting DCDCNAsespectively on 18th November 2022.
The appointment of the pair followed the retirement of Mr Amos Ojo as the clerk of the National Assembly and Mr Bala Yabani, the Deputy Clerk.
Tambuwal’s appointment was however welcomed by a plethora of difficulties including the unwillingness of the previous Clerk, Ojo to stand down.
Ojo was slated for his pre-retirement break in November 2022 before his career came to an end on February 14, 2023.
Nevertheless, Ojo claimed he couldn’t leave office since he had to assist finalize the adoption of the 2023 Budget and the Constitution Amendment Acts.
Before he was named the clerk of the National Assembly, Tambuwal was the secretary of the Directorate of Finance and Accounting at the National Assembly Service Commission.
