Several people were presumed dead on Thursday morning after a train and a BRT Bus collided in the Ikeja region of Lagos.
Reporters learnt that the moving train slammed into the BRT Bus at the PWD crossing in Ikeja and pulled it to Shogunle area of Lagos.
The number of victims could not be established at the time of reporting this report.
A Twitter user, Gidi, while uploading the footage captured from the location of the event remarked, “One minute you’re heading to work in a BRT, next minute a train is pulling your bus from ikeja to shogunle. I pray for everyone affected this morning – @seunlopez_ #Lagos”
“A considerable number of casualties are feared after an accident between a train and a Bus Rapid Transit (BRT) vehicle. The train collided with the BRT, forcing it to be pulled from the Ikeja Along area to Shogunle,” he stated.
All attempts to establish the number of casualties documented from the accident at the time of publishing this report were fruitless. Numerous calls made to Lagos State Traffic Management Authority, Nigerian Railway Company and other relevant organizations were not
