The psychiatric hold on Amanda Bynes has been extended for at least one week as doctors work to stabilize her medication and therapy.

On Monday, the actress, 37, was placed back on a 5150 psychiatric hold in Los Angeles, two months after being discharged from a mental health facility after a three-week stay.

According to TMZ, loved ones are concerned about the Hairspray star’s ‘pattern of recurring breakdowns’ following the recent incident.

They also stated that Amanda, who suffers from mental illness, operates well when she takes her medicine but stops once she feels better, causing her to go back into her previous downward spiral.

When the celebrity was previously under conservatorship, which ended in March 2022, her mother Lynn was in charge of ensuring she took her prescribed medication, and Amanda not taking her meds was never an issue.

Following a mental health evaluation, the actress was declared a “danger to herself and others,” according to authorities from the Los Angeles Police Department, who noted that it was Bynes herself who contacted the cops in the first place.

According to authorities, she initially contacted the LAPD on Saturday to report that a woman was in danger.

On Saturday, officials from the Los Angeles Police Department reportedly held Bynes for a mental health evaluation.

The former Nickelodeon star was freed from a mental health facility in April after being placed on psychiatric hold for three weeks for walking around Los Angeles naked and appearing to be crazy.

The She’s The Man actress was handcuffed outside her home on Saturday, according to law enforcement officials, who said they were responding to a complaint from a ‘lady in distress.’

According to TMZ, the woman was Bynes herself, and the insider said, ‘She was escorted to a police station where a professional medical unit was standing by to check her out and decide if she required additional treatment.’
