Amanda Bynes, an American actress, has apparently been placed on a 5150 psychiatric detention for the second time this year.

 

Over the weekend, authorities grabbed the ‘Nickelodeon’ celebrity and took her into custody for a mental health evaluation, which she appears to have failed.

 

Amanda Bynes is a danger to herself and others, according to police officers who detained her over the weekend, which means she’s back on a 5150 psychiatric hold, according to reports.

 

Amanda called the ‘LAPD’ Saturday morning to report a woman in difficulty, according to law enforcement sources.

Officers from the Los Angeles Police Department apprehended Amanda and took her to a police station for a medical evaluation to determine if she needed extra treatment.

Amanda had to be placed on a mandated psychiatric hold, which can last up to 72 hours under the law.

 

 

According to TMZ, who broke the story first, police from the Los Angeles Police Department handcuffed Bynes Saturday morning after receiving a distress call from a lady. That woman was certain she was Bynes.

 

According to the site, the 37-year-old actress was escorted to a police station where a medical unit was waiting to evaluate her and see if she need additional treatment.

According to eyewitnesses, the She’s the Man actor was “calm” during the meeting with police but appeared “defeated” when they dealt with her.

 

Following the incident, a source told ET that, while Bynes is doing her best to look after herself, she is “inconsistent” about taking her medication.

 

“Amanda had been feeling better recently and was doing her best to look after herself. She had been going to AA meetings and attempting to hang out with sober folks, and she looked terrific. “The only issue is that she is inconsistent in taking her medication, which causes problems,” the insider stated.

“When Amanda was taken to a mental institution a few months ago, things weren’t looking well for her. “She was very distressed, worried about her past and reputation, surrounding herself with bad influences, and not taking her medication,” the person stated.

 

Finally, Bynes’ loved ones “want her to get home safe and settled,” the source said, adding, “She is a great girl who means well and wants to get better.”
