Josh Duhamel, a Hollywood actor, has disclosed the real reason he and his ex-wife, Fergie, divorced.
“There wasn’t anything wrong with [our relationship],” the “Shotgun Wedding” star said on “In Depth With Graham Bensinger” on October 4.
“We had a fantastic time. We probably outgrew one other and had quite different interests.”
Duhamel, who was married to the former Black Eyed Peas singer for eight years before divorcing her in 2017, admitted that he struggled to “handle” the attention when they were together.
“I don’t think I ever really got comfortable with all of it,” he said.
“I’m just not the type of guy who feels at ease on red carpets.” “I’m doing all of the Hollywood stuff.”
“I think we kind of outgrew each other and had very different interests,” the actor went on to say.
At one point in their relationship, the “Transformers” star, 50, mentioned “missing the simplicity” of who he was and tried to encourage him to go to his home state of North Dakota.
However, he saw that the life he desired was not suitable for Fergie, 48, who was born and reared in Southern California.
“I have no ill will towards it. “I honestly don’t,” he stated.
“I’m very lucky that she’s a kind human.”
Duhamel and Fergie have been co-parenting their 10-year-old son, Axl, since their divorce was finalised in 2019.
The “Buddy Games” star recently returned to his roots by purchasing a lake property in North Dakota.”
“Having this place out here almost helps my career because I can get back to being who I really am,” Duhamel said.
