Popular Nigerian street-pop producer Ezeh Chisom Faith, professionally known as Rexxie, has released the remix to his industry-moving smash single Abracadabra which includes Wizkid at its start.
The remix, which was first announced 3 weeks ago, came to actuality because of Wizkid’s passion for the original tune. The original record featured Naira Marley and Skiibii on what was Rexxie’s sixth tune of 2022 as he capitalized on the momentum of his 2020 breakthrough production Ko Por Ke (KPK) featuring Mohbad.
Rexxie who is gearing up for the release of his second studio album Big Time on March 3 is undoubtedly exploiting the Wizkid impact to not just take Abracadabra to new heights but also market his album.
Big Time is a 36-minute 12-track project featuring Naira Marley, Skiibii, Busiswa, L.A.X, Shashie, and Zinoleesky among others. Rexxie has verified that the project is ready, but the entire tracklist remains a secret. Known tracks on the album include Abracadabra, Abracadabra Remix, Lagos and No More Condition.
Rexxie’s Abracadabra remix improves on the original single by incorporating the trendy Amapiano sound into an up-tempo rhythm that along with Naira Marley and Skiibii’s groovy lyrics allows Wizkid to come in as smoothly as possible
Naira Marley comes through with his bold lyrics, Skiibii keeps the thrilling Afrobeats sound on the tune, and Wizkid provides a catchy yet calm interpretation of the already iconic track. Wizkid gives a unique spin on things as he plays around with the famed “Abi kin kpe Rexxie” statement altering it to “Abi kin type Wizzy.”
Rexxie’s newest albums have continued to demonstrate the musical abilities of the Nigerian street music veteran producer.
His career has generated a large number of songs, including Zanku by Zlatan, street anthem Able God by Chinko Ekun and some of Naira Marley’s greatest singles including Puta, Soapy and Coming.
Rexxie’s ability continues to garner worldwide acclaim with two Grammys to his record for his work on Burna Boy’s Twice As Tall album at the 63rd edition of the Grammy awards and Angelique Kidjo’s Mother Nature album on the song Do Yourself at the 64th edition of the Grammy awards.
