Kiernan “AKA” Forbes was shot and died – along with another guy – in a shooting at a renowned night spot on Durban’s Florida Road on Friday night.
According to a first responder at the site, who spoke on condition of anonymity, Forbes was wounded while standing on the pavement when gunshots broke out soon after 10 PM. Police sources in Durban have also verified the terrible occurrence.
Another person thought to be AKA’s bodyguard was reportedly injured, while an unnamed individual, who is known to be a close friend of AKA, was also shot dead in the drive-by shooting, according to an IOL report.
Police in the province are yet to formally comment on the event, but according to another source, AKA was standing outside the Wish Restaurant when he was killed down in a drive-by shooting.
Two unknown automobiles are said to have opened fire soon before 10 pm.
Police had cordoned off the area when News crews arrived at the site on Friday night.
Jamieson claimed amongst the dead was a “famous rapper”, IOL reported.
The name of the second individual shot dead remained unclear as of the time of reporting this article, however, he is considered to be a close friend of AKA.
Social media reports indicated AKA was supposed to play at a Durban night club, YUGO, where he was slated to perform as part of his birthday festivities.
