The Miami-Dade Police Department is looking into allegations that Dolphins wide receiver Tyreek Hill struck a guy at the Haulover Marina.
WPLG-TV in Miami was the first to report the event after receiving a tip on Sunday night. Angel Rodriguez, a spokesman for Miami-Dade police, confirmed through email on Tuesday that a “assault/battery” involving Hill occurred on Sunday.
According to the station, Hill got into an argument with a charter company employee at Haulover Marina in Miami, which ultimately concluded with Hill punching the man.
Hill has previously been the focus of police investigations, most notably being mentioned in a child abuse report in 2019, albeit he was never charged with a crime in that case.
Hill was perhaps the finest wideout in the NFL last season, his first with Miami, with 1,710 yards and seven touchdowns.
Hill is preparing to begin his second season with the Dolphins after being acquired from the Kansas City Chiefs last year and signing a four-year, $120 million contract deal with the team. Hill and the Dolphins made the playoffs as a Wild Card team, but were ousted in the Wild Card Round by the Buffalo Bills.
