In a terrible event in Delhi’s Shahbad Dairy area, a 16-year-old minor girl was viciously stabbed to death by her boyfriend.
The culprit, named as Sahil, 20, stabbed her at least 20 times before crushing her head with a heavy rock while passersby did nothing to help.
According to authorities, Sahil and the deceased, Sakshi, were in a relationship but had a falling out on Sunday. The accused assaulted her while she was on her way to a friend’s son’s birthday party.
The horrifying incident was captured on CCTV.
Despite the heinous nature of the incident, the video shows multiple passersby passing by without helping the youngster or raising an alarm.
The heartbreaking picture of strangers disregarding the girl’s frantic calls for aid has sparked indignation about society’s callousness.
According to Indian Express, the girl’s body was discovered by a police informant, who contacted the force, which dispatched a PCR car.
“Sahil and the deceased were in a relationship, but they had a fight yesterday.” The dead was on her way to a friend’s son’s birthday party when the accused stopped her, stabbed her many times, then beat her with a stone. The accused has fled, and a manhunt is underway to find him. “A FIR has been registered under Section 302 of the Indian Penal Code at PS Shahbad Dairy,” a police officer informed ANI.
The incident was noted by Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal, who tweeted, “A minor girl is brutally murdered openly in Delhi.” This is heartbreaking and tragic. Criminals have become bold, and they have no fear of the police. L-G, law and order is your responsibility; take action. The safety of Delhi residents is of the utmost importance.”
Meanwhile, Swati Maliwal, Chairperson of the Delhi Commission for Women, informed ANI, “A 16-year-old girl was stabbed 40-50 times and then hit multiple times by a stone, after which she died.” All of this was captured on CCTV. Several people witnessed this but did not pay attention. Women and girls are increasingly dangerous in Delhi. I request that the central government convene a high-level meeting involving the Union HM, Delhi LG, DCW chairman, and Delhi CM.”
