In a devastating indictment of the fashion industry, Lottie Moss has claimed that she was drugged by key fashion professionals.
The 25-year-old British model, who is now sober after finishing rehab, claims she never used drugs or alcohol before becoming a catwalk star, but she was later introduced to them.
Lottie opened up about her drug problems for the first time, saying, ‘I started fairly early on with using drugs and alcohol as a crutch, as a coping strategy, which there is not a lack of in the fashion world.
‘When I was young, people in positions of power were giving me drugs and booze, so it didn’t seem so horrible to me.’

‘When you have people around you who are enabling you, I’m talking about high fashion events where people are in a penthouse suite and they’re working for a very well-known company and they’re sat there using drugs with you as a 19-year-old,’ she explained.
‘That is so strange to me right now… that should never happen in any industry.’The fact that no one suggested, “Perhaps we shouldn’t be allowing our client to do drugs.” We should want her to be on her game and do her best, get up in the morning and take a gym class, but instead it was tonnes of booze, and it goes hand in hand.’
Lottie acknowledges that her drug use got so frequent that she was using ‘five times a week,’ owing to an unsatisfactory relationship with an older guy.
‘I took weed and everything when I was 15, but moving to London and being around a lot of older people, my boyfriend at the time was 27, and the people we were hanging out with did a lot of drugs,’ she revealed.
‘I started to realise fairly early on that my relationship wasn’t going very well with him and he was disloyal, and he was also using drugs as a coping technique. I noticed that and incorporated it into my life since it was the only time I felt free.
‘When I was continuously working, I had to be on my A game, so when I returned to London and did drugs, I was like ‘yeah’ because it seemed like freedom to me. It started off as an escape, but it gradually became something I relied on because I was unhappy.
‘I was honest with myself back then that I was using it excessively. I don’t believe I was addicted to it… I simply needed to get away. It dulled every single feeling I experienced, such as anger, upset, and loneliness; it became my companion.’
When asked about her relationship with her half-sister Kate Moss, 49, Lottie says the continuous comparisons were a ‘pain,’ but she does agree the connection did ‘open opportunities.’
Lottie Moss, a British model, claims that when she was 19, prominent fashion executives plied her with drugs and alcohol.
‘I grew up constantly being in the shadow of my sister, and I know there’s this whole nepo baby thing now, and I want to clarify because I’m not trying to imply it’s not a privilege,’ Lottie said.
‘I’ve definitely had doors open for me, and I’ve had some wonderful experiences and worked with some incredible people, and I’ve met some of my best friends today as a result of that position, but it wasn’t for me.
‘Being continually compared to someone, whether famous or not, is exhausting.
‘I have acquaintances with really affluent parents who always feel like they’re not good enough because their parents have built this fantastic business and they just feel like they’ll never be that…’ They will never own a multimillion-pound company, and it is difficult.
‘People laugh about it and say ‘nepo baby’ or something, but it’s hard to be compared to someone, and I don’t get why this is only nepotism because it happens to a lot of rich people who aren’t renowned as well.’
