In Cameroon, an unidentified mother abandoned her newborn infant with a scribbled note.
The newborn was discovered in the early hours of Thursday, May 4, 2023, beside MIDENO in the Ntefinki sector of Nkwen, Bamenda, Cameroon’s North West region.
“Around 6:00 a.m., the baby was discovered.” Following notification of the quarter head and other authorities, the child was taken to the Health Centre, where he was confirmed to be in good health,” a source told journalists.
According to reports, the boy was transferred to the police station for further procedures about his welfare.
The mother stated in the message left next the infant that she made the difficult decision because she had no one to help her.
“I apologize for having to do this. I didn’t have much of a choice since I want my child to have a good life. “I have nothing, no one to help me, and nothing to start a small business that will support the baby and me,” the note states.
“Please assist me in taking good care of him, and I pray that God bless and grant your heart’s desires.” Migael is the baby’s name, and he was born on April 26, 2023. He has received his first immunization but has yet to be circumcised. God bless you and your family.
