Taofeek Adeagbo, 18, has been paraded by the Oyo State Police Command for allegedly murdering his father.
Rashidat, the suspect’s mother, was also displayed for concealing the murder.
The accused were paraded alongside 23 others in Ibadan on Friday, April 29, according to the state Police Public Relations Officer, Adewale Osifeso, who stated that the event occurred in Tede, Atisbo Local Government Area of the state.
Osifeso said, “On Friday, 21 April, 2023, around 8am, one Taofeek Adeagbo of Somola area, Tede, reported at the Tede Divisional Police Headquarters that on the same day around 6.30am, his nephew, Ismail Adeagbo, came to inform him that when he woke up around 6am, he met his father, Jimoh Adeagbo, lying dead where he was sleeping inside the compound with a serious mark of violence on his forehead.”

According to him, early investigations revealed that the suspect whacked his father in the head with an iron rod while he was sleeping, killing him.
According to reports, the suspect confessed to the crime.
“He also admitted that his mother, Rashidat Adeagbo, was aware that he murdered his father but kept the information hidden.” Rashidat Adeagbo was also detained, according to Osifeso.
Rashidat, on the other hand, told Punch that she awoke to see her husband’s lifeless body on the floor.
“I woke up the children for early morning Islamic prayers only to find my husband’s lifeless body on the floor,” she explained. People gathered in our compound after I raised the alarm. Taofeek had gone out to inform family members of his father’s death.
“I had seven children for my late husband, and despite our disagreements, I would never wish him dead.” The case was reported to the police station by family members.
“A combined police team requested all of the children, but I thought Taofeek had not returned, only to discover that he was hiding under the bed.” “I asked him if he knew anything about his father’s death, and he confessed to the crime,” she stated.
