Bisi Adedamola: Ogun: Yellow journalism and senseless propaganda of frustrated elements

Must read

The continuous vituperation and smear campaign by opposition elements and their allies against Ogun State Governor, Prince Dapo Abiodun, is understandable, albeit pitiful; it is obviously a product of frustrated minds and a dismal situation; we sincerely sympathize with them.

The most amusing of the recent junk of less cognitive strength is that authored by a scavenger in the media space, who is in desperate need of means of survival amid marital trauma of fragmented home; I was seriously amused by his reference to ‘friends and colleagues in the media’, this is an unpardonable product of imaginary error. Who are his coworkers, and what media platforms do they use?

However, because this response was conceived to kill the dangerous virus that the dirty mind ignorantly sold to some unsuspecting members of the public about the governor of Ogun State and his administration, I will not dignify this element by dwelling much on his personality and rough antecedents, but will quickly go straight to puncture some of his lies that I consider necessary for the sake of the good people of the State, as the majority of those lies are too intelligible wit

First, we understand why these political operatives brought up the problem of ecological money and the fictitious disappearance of $9 million from state coffers. Because of the messy background and history of monumental corruption that characterized their gang leader’s 8-year administration, in which every fund meant for ecological intervention was criminally siphoned by the governor and his cronies, they expected the same style of governance this time around.

They were also hallucinating on the kleptomaniac way in which their leader swindled the state for eight years and depleted the state’s treasury with impunity, and they now maliciously concluded that the stealing spree that was the order of the day would continue under PDA, especially since all their entreaties to join the new administration and continue their criminal activities were cleverly blocked by the governor, who knows his onions and understands their psyches.

To clarify, Governor Dapo Abiodun has been open and upfront in his management of all revenues accruing to the State’s purse with a high level of prudence and financial acumen, including ecological funds. In fact, the Governor, more than any of his predecessors, has used finances wisely as a result of his concern for a safe and clean environment.

Governor Dapo Abiodun never asked any Chairman of any local government to sign for ecological funding without equivalent disbursement in the same breath for the purpose intended. Again, the producers of this tainted story are past recipients of callous gang-raping of ecological funding during their tenure, and they are verified criminals.

Speaking of the Mikano cars given to local government chairmen and the concerns surrounding them, the scenario was plainly exaggerated by the Governor’s and the State’s foes; there is no hostility between the Governor and the Chairmen. As a result of the inclusive governance of the current administration in the State, every state functionary is fully aware of the State’s economic status and is always willing to sacrifice whatever is required to ensure its stability and functionality; thus, the impression these elements are attempting to create around this issue was a ploy to pit governors against chief executives of councils, which has proven to be a dead end indeed.
