Taylen Mosley, a 2-year-old boy who went missing in Florida, was discovered inside the mouth of an alligator a day after his mother was found stabbed to death.

According to the Associated Press, Thomas Mosley, the toddler’s father, has been charged with two counts of first-degree murder, one for the child and one for the boy’s mother, Pashun Jeffery, 20.
According to St. Petersburg Police Chief Anthony Holloway, the boy was discovered on Friday, March 31, when officers noticed an alligator in a lake with “an object in its mouth,” which they quickly realised was the toddler’s body.

Officers shot at the alligator, which dropped the child. According to police, the reptile was euthanized.
After a missing 2-year-old boy was discovered dead inside an alligator, his father was arrested.
“We’re sorry it had to come to this,” Holloway said at a press conference.
According to The New York Post, police are still investigating how the child died and whether he was already dead when he ended up in the lake.
According to the Associated Press, police were looking for the child after discovering Jeffery dead from multiple stab wounds inside her apartment on Thursday afternoon, March 30, at what police described as a “very violent crime scene.”
On Wednesday night, March 29, neighbours reported hearing a loud commotion near their apartment, but police were not called.

On Wednesday night, the boy’s father, Mosley, checked himself into a local hospital with cuts on his arms and hands. He was still in the hospital as of Friday night and refused to speak with police, according to police.
