Majors’ attorney, Priya Chaudhry, said in a statement on Sunday, March 26, that he is ‘completely innocent and is most likely the victim of an altercation with a woman he knows.’
She previously stated that she expects the star’s charges to be dropped, citing video evidence that she claims exonerates him of the assault on his girlfriend, who she claims recanted her statements.
Majors, 33, was arrested on assault charges on Saturday morning after allegedly beating his girlfriend inside a vehicle.
He was released on his own recognisance and will appear in a Manhattan courtroom in May.
According to Chaudhry’s statement, her team is “quickly gathering and presenting evidence to the District Attorney with the expectation that all charges will be dropped imminently.”
She also stated that her team has video footage from the alleged assault vehicle, witness testimony from the driver and others who saw and heard the alleged altercation, and’most importantly, two written statements from the woman recanting the allegations.’
‘All the evidence shows that Mr. Majors is completely innocent and did not assault her in any way,’ Chaudhry continued, claiming that “this incident occurred because this woman was having an emotional crisis, for which she was taken to a hospital yesterday.”
‘In these situations, the NYPD is required to make an arrest, and this is the only reason Mr. Majors was arrested. We anticipate that these charges will be dropped soon,’ she said.
Chaudhry is now expected to present all of that evidence to the District Attorney, who has already granted the alleged victim limited court-ordered protection.
According to TMZ, the District Attorney has requested a full order of protection, indicating the need for additional protection from Majors.
Majors ‘has done nothing wrong,’ according to a spokesperson for the Creed III actor, and ‘we look forward to clearing his name and clearing this up.’
Cops were called to the scene at 11:14 a.m. near the intersection of West 22nd Street and 8th Avenue in Manhattan’s Chelsea neighbourhood.
According to an NYPD statement, “a preliminary investigation determined that a 33-year-old male was involved in a domestic dispute with a 30-year-old female.”
‘The victim reported being assaulted to police. Officers took the 33-year-old male into custody without incident,’ according to the statement sent to DailyMail.com.
The alleged victim told police that she and Majors got into an argument and he then ‘attacked her.’
Majors allegedly struck her in the face with an open hand, causing “significant pain and a laceration behind her ear.”
Majors also allegedly grabbed her hand and placed his hands on her neck, causing swelling, bruising, and significant pain to her neck and hand.
According to a TMZ source, the victim had visible injuries on her body, including a laceration behind her ear, redness, and marks on her face.

The actor was immediately handcuffed and taken to jail because police ‘felt there was enough evidence for probable cause.’
The alleged victim was taken to a local hospital after the altercation and is said to be in stable condition.
