A mother who lost her daughter after she drowned in the family’s backyard spa has revealed an unsettling but heartwarming detail in a wedding photo.

Tahlia Murphy, 28, and her husband Cecil, 28, faced tragedy in September 2022 when their 17-month-old daughter Taidyn “Totty” Murphy died at their Gracemere home in Queensland’s Rockhampton region.

Tahlia, the mother of Paityn, 12, Laikyn, 6, and Haivyn, 4, married Cecil three months after her baby girl died to honor her life.
She told Daily Mail Australia that the couple’s entire wedding day revolved around Totty, but she cherishes one particular photo from the event.

“Our entire day was for her, we had a big beautiful A3 picture of her, she had her own seat and a bouquet done for her, our eldest daughter walked down the aisle with her ashes, and some of her ashes were also put in my and my husband’s ring,” she told Daily Mail Australia.

Tahlia expressed her disappointment that her daughter was unable to attend their wedding until a friend pointed out a small figure in one of their wedding photos.
“One of my friends found it and sent it to me with the figure circled, saying your baby girl was at your wedding after all,” she explained.
“I was laying in bed at the time and my friend had screenshot the picture and I was like ‘oh my god she was literally there’.
“I ran straight to my husband, and we both got goosebumps and cried, and we said, ‘look, it’s our Totty, looking on from behind a tree in a white dress,'” she said.
Tahlia stated that while she had always been skeptical of anything supernatural, the photograph confirmed that her little girl was present.
“I found out my father died when I was eight years old, and over the years I have always tried to find out what happened to him.”
“I’ve always believed, but never to the extent that I do now because there have been signs since she died, and this is just another.”
Tahlia stated that the urn containing their daughter’s ashes is yellow and shaped like a butterfly, and that the couple has seen yellow butterflies every day since her death.

“Every day, without fail, we’ve seen at least one, and sometimes 10, 20, or even 50,” Tahlia said.
“We see them all over our house, in the backyard, in front of our car, when we’re out and about, everywhere.”
Tahlia posted a video to TikTok of the shadowy figure, and many users commented that their baby girl was definitely present that day.
