
Police in Benue state have arrested the suspected killer of Erekaa Dooshima, a Benue state University undergraduate who went missing in February and was found dead days later.
The deceased was discovered dead on Wednesday, February 22, 2023, three days after she went missing, according to LIB. Her body was discovered in a shallow grave in a fenced-in area opposite the school, according to reports.
Following her death, the police swung into action and arrested an estate agent, Shagbaor Ugosor Japhet, whom she gave N150,000 to in order for him to help her secure an apartment.

According to reports, the suspect confessed to killing Dooshima after being apprehended and questioned. According to the suspect, he used the money to place a bet, and when he couldn’t provide the house or the money, he called the 25-year-old lady and hacked her to death.
“When she arrived at the dark corner of the street where I called her to come, I cut her with a machete several times leading to her death. After killing her, I took her body with her iPhone and dumped it on the street to make it appear that she was murdered by someone else.’
Unfortunately for Shagbaor, the POS machine used by Dooshima to make the transfer to him was tracked down and the suspect was apprehended.
According to police, he will appear in court soon.
