Self-proclaimed ‘prophetess’ Tiphani Montgomery has generated uproar after dubbing record-breaking Grammy award winner Beyoncé a witch and taking aim at her admirers, humiliating any of them who wants to attend her event.
According to a source, the American pastor and head of The Covered By God organization, blasted Beyoncé in a video she uploaded on TikTok and YouTube on 12 February.
“Any of you who are coming to Beyoncé’s concert I chastise you in the name of Jesus, how dare you call yourself a Christian.
I don’t care what pastor you got who’s Fine with it, I don’t care what pastor you got that think it’s great, I don’t care what pastor you got that sing along to the songs because they want some clout,” she continued.
Montgomery, an itinerant preacher who comes from North Carolina, then goes on to say that Beyoncé is an ‘a witch’ and admirers of the singer are part of a ‘coven.
“When a witch has a coven it’s generally a little affair. Witch’s covens are generally three to seven people,’ the preacher added.
“When it gets thousands it’s called a hive. Y’all a member of that woman Beyhive? And you call yourself a Christian? May the dealings of the Lord come upon you,” Montgomery maintained.
The video, which has gotten 50,000 views on both platforms combined, has provoked conflicting comments.
“I adore the Lord with ALL my soul and I will glorify His name at all times but this is a type of manipulation in the same manner that she’s implying that Beyoncé is exploiting her platform,” one Instagram user stated.
Another individual added: “As a Christian, I’m not sure why criticizing others is such an issue smh (not everyone does it but….) We may guide others without being judgemental and bossy towards dominating others.
“Last time I check only God can judge. I wish we would just guide and remind them of the love of God rather than pulling others down and speaking evil on people to remind them of God.”
Former Destiny’s Child member and Beyoncé’s pal Michelle Williams also made an Instagram post regarding the video, saying: “It also appears like I am joining the conversation
“I am just observing a lot going on, things that are being said, primarily about celebrities, specifically about entertainers that I even have connections with, entertainers that I know off the stage.
“I simply wish we would pray as openly for entertainers as we denounce them and sentence their souls to damnation.
“I know it ain’t my calling duty to consign performers to hell and to proclaim that they would drop dead. The devil is a lie,” Michelle added.
Michelle, who has always spoken out about her Christian beliefs, recorded a series of Gospel albums after quitting the R&B-pop trio.
But, one admirer, Raven Hartwell, said she agreed with “everything [Montgomery] was saying.”
She claimed there were ‘so many people outraged right now, upset, and standing up for Beyoncé and utterly missing the point.
Montgomery’s detractors have also dubbed her a ‘hypocrite’ after uncovering past tweets where she professed herself a lover of Beyoncé, and even stated she attended the singer’s events
“Am I the only one obsessed with Beyonce’s song: Why don’t u love me??? #nowplaying it again smh,’ she tweeted in 2010.
“Got a chance to witness the Jay Z and Beyonce show and it was AMAZING!!!’ Montgomery added in another tweet from 2014.
The pastor, however, has come out to defend herself, addressing the rediscovered tweets on 13 February:
“I openly came against and attacked their god balance (sic) so they unearthed these tweets from 2010, 2011, 2014.
“But I had just recorded a video the night before stating I was the BIGGEST jay z and balance (sic) fan… until I was rescued in my shower in August 2015.”
She continued in another tweet: “What’s my point? My argument is whenever you’re a mouthpiece for God they will attempt to discredit you. Yet I’m more scared of The Living God than I am dead skeletons!”
Critics also aimed her previously published adult writings, including The Millionaire Mistress series, with Montgomery responding: ‘I quit writing them six years before I became saved.”
“I will not listen to her sermons. Tiphani Montgomery is false, living two lives, exploiting the church for attention & money and publishing sleazy seductive sex novels for money too. & before you claim this is ancient it’s not, these books are from 2020,’ one individual stated.
At this point, Tiphani responded: “I quit writing those novels SIX YEARS BEFOREEEEEEE I was rescued.
“I also have never gotten money from those novels since 2010 cuz I gave the rights to them away. I also can’t have them removed from Amazon since I don’t own them. I know cuz I’ve been trying for years now.’
Montgomery defines herself as an ‘unlikely entrepreneur’ who was a young parent and a college dropout
According to her website, she is the CEO of Millions Conference and established Kingdom Entrepreneur University, a high-level online educational program that has taught 3,000+ entrepreneurs worldwide.’
She launched Covered By God, a prophetic and teaching ministry aimed to raise and stir the church with an awakening of the Holy Spirit and build up God’s prophets and prophetic voices to affect the nations.’
