Mrs Akunna Roseline Udom, 35, was arrested by the Anambra State Police Command for alleged conspiracy, advance fee fraud, and stealing, gistpeople reports

DSP Ikenga Tochukwu, the command’s spokesperson, said in a statement on Monday, February 20, that the suspect is a member of a notorious gang that specializes in defrauding unsuspecting members of the public.
According to the PPRO, Udom targets single young ladies with false promises to marry them off to her brother who lives in another country.
According to the spokesperson, the woman who joined the gang last year defrauded more than five young ladies of over N9 million.
“Roseline is a member of a notorious three-man gang that specializes in defrauding members of the public. While some of her syndicate members remain at large, she admitted that her victims are primarily single young ladies who work in cooperative offices such as banks, civil service, and sales girls, assuring them that her brother, who is based overseas, is looking for a wife,” according to the statement.
“She also claims to have the spiritual power to cleanse her victims’ afflictions and to be capable of doubling any amount given to her by the victim. Mrs Rose, a mother of five children, joined the gang early last year and has since defrauded five young ladies out of a total of $9 million and more.
“The Command therefore, wishes to use this medium to advise members of the public especially teeming youth to avoid getting rich quick strategy but rather engage in a legitimate business that will, in turn, bring better profits and growth in their lives. They should also be cautious about allowing strangers into their personal lives. When the investigation is completed, the case will be charged in court.”
