At midnight on Saturday, a 3.8 magnitude earthquake struck Wales, causing houses to shake.
The quake struck eight miles north of the Rhondda Valley in the final minutes of Friday, causing locals to panic as their beds began to move and their walls shook.
According to one resident near the epicentre, the quake was so strong that it felt like the roof was falling off.
‘Made the bed shake here in the Rhondda, thought I was going insane,’ said resident Steve Pither.
The British Geological Survey reported a 3.8 magnitude earthquake at a depth of one mile.
Earthquakes with a Richter magnitude of 2.5 to 5.4 are frequently felt by residents but do not cause significant damage.

Although the vast majority of earthquakes in the UK are extremely mild, some 200-300 tremors are felt on British soil each year.
Another resident stated, ‘We just had an earthquake in South Wales, the first one I’ve ever felt… I thought someone was trying to break into my house.’
‘We felt our entire bed move,’ wrote a third. Inexplicably. According to Google, there was an earthquake in South Wales.’
