Rupiah Begum, the children’s mother, said she has no idea what happened to her normally pleasant son.

“I don’t know what happened,” Begum told The Post on Sunday, March 12, from her Jamaica home.

“Usually, everything is fine. They have fun together. Usually, there are no issues.”

The mother of five said her son, whose name has not been released, was “frightened” and speaking to detectives at the 113th Precinct stationhouse, while her daughter, who suffered multiple stab wounds, remained in critical condition at Jamaica Hospital.

“Something is wrong, he said,” Begum said of her son. “He expressed his displeasure.

“He stabbed her multiple times,” the mother claimed. “I’m not sure what happened.”

Begum said she was at work at McDonald’s about five minutes away from the family home at 11th Avenue and 156th Street on Saturday, March 11, when she received the call that her son had allegedly stabbed her daughter around 7 p.m.

“I wasn’t at home. I was summoned. “There was an emergency at work,” she explained.

She stated that her husband, who neighbors claim drives a cab and owns a taxi service, is in Bangladesh.

According to police, the teen got into an argument with his sister and stabbed her with a steak knife before calling 911 to report “someone with a knife breaking into the house.”

However, police said the injured teen was able to identify the attacker as her brother.

The boy later told cops that his sister, who was stabbed in the back, legs, thighs, arms, and face, was “bothering him” before the attack.

According to one neighbor, the boy is autistic and is frequently heard screaming.

“He screams a lot and there’s a lot of yelling,” a neighbor who declined to be identified said. “They arrived three years ago. The best neighbors we’ve ever had. There was never any trouble.”

“What happened is terrible,” he said. “Last night, my wife was very upset. The entire block was stunned. There were cops and flashing red lights everywhere.
