The All Progressives Congress put together a group of very skilled and knowledgeable attorneys on Tuesday in Abuja to defend it in the Presidential Election Petition Tribunal.
The team consisted of legal eminences with substantial expertise in election petition concerns, constitutional law, and litigation, according to a statement by Ahmad El-Marzuq, APC National Legal Advisor.
He said that Prince Lateef Fagbemi, a well-known attorney, was in charge of the legal team, which included 13 Senior Advocates of Nigeria.
El-Marzuq said that Fagbemi has handled several high-profile election-related issues and other significant cases.
He stated his confidence in the legal team’s ability to represent the APC successfully in the Presidential Election Petition issues since they have the necessary knowledge and experience.
The APC National Legal Adviser asked party members to assist the team in defending the people’s will and mandate in the presidential election on February 25.

Also, he urged all parties to behave throughout the legal process with the highest professionalism and respect for the rule of law.
The legal team comprises Lateef Fagbemi (Lead Counsel); Ahmad El-Marzuq (Life Bencher); Sam Ologunorisa; Rotimi Oguneso; Olabisi Syebo; Gbotega Oyewole; Muritala Abdulrasheed; Aliyu Saiki; Tajudeen Oladoja; Pius Akubo; Oluseye Opasanya; Suraju Saida and Kazeem Adeniyi.
Both Mr Peter Obi, the presidential candidate for the Labour Party, and Alhaji Atiku Abubakar, the candidate for the Peoples Democratic Party, have challenged the results of the election in court, claiming electoral fraud.
Sen. Bola Tinubu, the APC presidential candidate, received 8, 794,726 votes, according to the Independent National Electoral Commission, making him the victor of the poll.
According to INEC, Abubakar Atiku, Tinubu’s closest opponent, received 6, 984, 520 votes, while Obi received 6, 101, 533.
